Virtualisation and cloud services
Effectively leveraging the value of cloud services
Virtualisation detaches people, processes and information from physical infrastructure. The cost and agility benefits are obvious: flexible procurement and payment models, and services that can be delivered to any location, quickly scaled up or down, and changed or upgraded without major asset upheaval.
In the unified communications layer, ERP, CRM, Finance and VoIP applications are evaporating comfortably into the cloud. In the converged network layer, the Virtual Network Operator model has been around for a long time, offering infrastructural and commercial flexibility without long-term ties to carriers.
Virtualised infrastructure
Our customers are being drawn to infrastructure virtualisation by a number of factors - legislated practices like flexible working, commercial benefits like the shift from CapEx to OpEx, and the advantages of utilising technology that is easy to scale in response to changing circumstances and customer demands.
Cloud services
Cloud services allow you to select specific hosted or virtualised services as they become useful and fit in with the evolution of your business and ICT strategy. We're seeing our customers take a phased approach to the migration from premises-based platforms to cloud services.
What next?
Some of our customers are in the experimental stage, opting for specific cloud services. Others are already fully engaged in a virtualisation strategy.
We've been providing virtualised networks and contact centres, hosting, mobility and secure remote access for years. Now we're seeing increased demand for virtualised unified communications. Find out how we're helping »
