New business mobile to launch in summer

Research in Motion (RiM), the Canadian wireless device company, has announced it is to release its latest business mobile in the summer.

The new Blackberry Bold smartphone is set to give business users increased functionality and becomes the first such device to support tri-band HSPDA high-speed networks around the world.

It also comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi, which could be used to run VoIP services.

Applications such as email, messaging, organiser and browser come as standard and it is claimed the device works with "thousands" of mobile business and lifestyle applications.

Mike Lazaridis, president and co-chief executive of RiM, welcomed the BlackBerry Bold's arrival.

He said: “The new BlackBerry Bold represents a tremendous step forward in business-grade smartphones and lives up to its name with incredible speed, power and functionality, all wrapped in a beautiful and confident design."

The announcement of the Blackberry Bold follows a report by Internet News which warned that expectations among business mobile users are increasing.
