Chris Jagusz, CEO
A lifelong business-to-business services professional, Chris joined Azzurri as Chief Executive in September 2014. He has led network operator SSE Telecoms, SME market specialist Eurotel, managed the integration of multiple acquisitions with Daisy Group and led the retail business there, and acted as an industry consultant on cross-selling, market strategy, acquisitions and data centre builds.
Chris’s early career was with BT, where he sold into the global banking sector, before running a service operation in Germany, managing a joint venture investment in Switzerland and consolidating multiple networks across Europe. After running BT’s wholesale voice portfolio, Chris moved to Openreach where he set up the sales and product management operations.
An engineer by training, Chris has a masters degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Leeds University and an MBA from Manchester University.
Andrew Marshall, Chief Financial Officer
Andrew joined Azzurri in January 2013 and is responsible for financial strategy, financial planning, reporting and investor relations.
He is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in the telecoms industry, beginning his career with Cable and Wireless where he performed a number of roles, including Finance Director for the Wholesale division and CFO for Thus. He was also involved extensively in M&A and transformation projects.
Andrew also has a wide international experience, having worked for Schlumberger in the USA and in Indonesia where he was CFO Asia for the IT Managed Services business. His experience also covers the telecom equipment and managed services business gained whilst at Nokia Siemens Networks. He holds a degree in Business Studies from the University of Liverpool.
Rufus Grig, Chief Technology Officer
Rufus is responsible for overseeing three key aspects of the business: Azzurri’s product and service offering, in-house product development, and Azzurri’s go-to-market strategy. Prior to his current role, Rufus was Managing Director of Callmedia, Azzurri’s wholly owned software house, which now forms the flagship contact centre product of Azzurri Innovations.
Rufus is recognised as an industry expert in his field and is a frequent conference speaker, contributing regularly on the subject of the future of the telecoms and contact centre markets. He also sits on the Contact Centre and Telemarketing Council of the UK’s Direct Marketing Association and on the editorial and advisory boards of a number of journals and conferences.
Brendan Lynch, Sales & Marketing Director
Brendan Lynch was appointed as Sales & Marketing Director for Azzurri Communications in October 2014. As part of the Operations Board, Brendan is responsible for leading the company’s sales and account management functions in helping customers achieve their strategic goals through innovative communication solutions.
Brendan has a wealth of experience in the communications industry, having previously worked for Virgin Media Business as Director, Business & Partner Markets. Prior to this Brendan was VP Sales Europe for Reliance Globalcom. In this role he was responsible for the management of Pan European Sales, Managed Services, Sales Support, Solution Specialists and Channel Sales teams.
Brendan also spent nine years with Energis in a number of sales and marketing leadership roles, latterly as Director of Channels.
Rob Watson, HR Director
Rob joined Azzurri in March 2014. He is an experienced and commercially astute HR Director with an outstanding reputation for supporting organisations in delivering their business goals in a timely and efficient manner.
With 20+ years’ experience, Rob has been at the forefront of driving innovation and leading teams across a diverse portfolio of businesses, ranging from telecommunications; banking and finance; the food industry and oil and gas.
Rob is a well-rounded HR strategist. He has a strong track record and takes a committed and determined approach to influence the organisational culture and to facilitate employee contributions to profitable growth through all aspects of the HR portfolio. In addition, Rob utilises a broad range of competencies and skills gained through practical experience working in many overseas locations. This is complimented with a progression of academic qualifications, from an MBA, through to Law and Economics degrees.
Gillian Bailey, Director of Customer Services
With almost 20 years industry experience Gillian heads up our Customer Service division. Gillian was appointed to her current role as Director of Customer Service sitting as part of the Operating Board in September 2014 and has worked for Azzurri for 8 years.
Gillian graduated from Salford University after studying business management and moved straight in to the Telecommunications industry. Gillian has a wealth of experience in all aspects of Operational management with experience across Vendor Management, Provisioning, Project Management and all aspects of Service Management. An ITIL trained professional Gillian is responsible for ensuring the service delivered to our customers is not only in line with contractual obligations but fit for purpose and designed to meet customer outcomes and objectives.
Functionally Gillian is responsible for all of our operational teams: implementation engineering, transition, service management, NOC, and service delivery management in addition internal functions such as order management and business process improvement.
David Cross, Director of Projects
David Cross was appointed Director of Projects at Azzurri in August 2015. David is a highly accredited, business-led IT professional with a proven track record in leading, managing, coordinating and motivating project management services. He has a diverse technical background, working in a range of leading organisations in the UK and internationally and he brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Prior to joining Azzurri he worked at GEA, a global manufacturing company, where he was Head of Procurement for IT Services and Chief Information Security Officer for the Group. David has also worked in South Africa for systems integrator Dimension Data as Global Programme Director, and was previously IT Director at professional services firm Mazars. He also has business development experience from global network operator SITA and IT companies NEC and IBM System Centre.
